Black Mesa: Definitive Edition - Full Singleplayer Playthrough
2Okay, the moment I posted the other video, I already knew I was going to be bombarded with comments saying I play the new version, so... HERE YOU GO!!!
But yeah, I first experienced Black Mesa by playing the original mod version, then I bought the game off Steam. I didn't decide to play this version until I made a playthrough video of it (mainly due to the disk space it eats up). Honestly, when I'm playing this version, it just feels like I'm playing through the same mod, even with those additions, improvements, and differences. Whereas the original mod used Source SDK Base 2007, the game now uses its own custom Source engine branch. As much as I like this game, it still isn't safe from crashing- although it only crashed a few times this time.
I liked the original Half-Life's Xen chapters, which was sweet and short. But Black Mesa really did make Xen look like a whole new dimension. It's drastically different from OG HL's Xen as the environments are more rocky, crystally, grassy, and even technologically, instead of the same few materials seen in the original. In fact, all those gameplays of the Xen chapters I watched told me so. I felt hyped to finally try out the Xen chapters for myself after all this time. But honestly, I just clicked out of those videos after a few minutes. Glad I stopped myself from being spoiled, heh.
Y'know... I could make a Black Mesa But The Plot is Slightly Different myself. But I kinda suck at voices. Still want it to be like Deadwater Gaming's Half-Life But The Plot is Slightly Different, though.
