Black Mesa - How To VERY Easily Unlock The One Step Ahead RARE Achievement!
0In order to unlock the One Step Ahead achievement, you must kill 10 enemies with Tripmines. You first get Tripmines in Chapter 7, Power Up (at least that is the first place I found them).
Start Chapter 7 and play until you enter a room with the Tripmines on a box. This is right before the first appearance of the Gargantua. Grab the Tripmines and avoid the Gargantua, climbing up to the floor above. Once there, you will find a HEV Charger and First Aid Station. Follow the path where the pipes lead to a narrow hallway, and then drop down onto a grate and break it to fall to the floor below.
Once down here, MAKE A MANUAL SAVE! Plant Tripmines on the walls, and lure the enemies into them. Once you have killed the enemies in the area, reload your manual save. This will give you back your Tripmines as well as respawn the enemies. Once again, plant the Tripmines and kill the enemies with them. Repeat this process until you have killed 10 enemies, and the achievement will unlock! After it has unlocked, feel free to reload once more to get back your Tripmines before proceeding.
