Blackrock Interloper Spawn - Can I survive without map knowledge of item spawns?
1,757In this video, I do a new interloper spawn in Blackrock, without knowing where item spawns are. Can an experienced interloper player survive the wolf-infested Blackrock region? More info below.
Recorded high definition and sound has had noise reduction. Sorry about the occasional breathing into the microphone, though. I did not realize this during recording, and not sure why it happened as I recorded the same way I always do.
Recording dates: 10th and 11th December. Patch was released 7th December.

Note: Prior to this video, I had completed Episode 4 on Story Mode and therefore had a general idea of where all the major locations were. I also speedran the episode twice, again going only where the story took me. This means that, while I know the general map layout, I do not know where items spawns or what had been changed between the episode and survival. I had heard that the vest was in the prison and that the workshop code was in the mine, but that's about it, and those were two areas I was going to explore anyway. For the Stalker video where I fight of timberwolves with a torch, I started a new run, spawned near Bricklayer's Retreat, went with a torch to the timberwolves for the recording, and then quit. So the map was not explored on survival prior to this video.
Consider this video a "soft walkthrough", as it shows you how you can survive an interloper spawn in this region, but it is also highly exploratory and not streamlined. It is a crude guide, only. In the future, I will make a better guide or walkthrough.
My opinion: Blackrock is an interesting region with some unique loot, such as the vest and noisemakers. It is worth going here just for these two things. Other than that, it isn't the friendliest region to live, so I don't think it will be my favourite base.
Also note: We do not yet know the fixed spawns (except Noisemakers and vest), but I think the matches+gloves in the truck by the prison is guaranteed as I've found it every time so far, in this run and a few quick test spawns I did afterwards.
