The attention to detail in this game is honestly kind of surprising. Back in Wolfenstein 3D, you were lucky to have dedicated kennels with bowls of dog food and puddles of "water" in the corners. In Blake Stone, you get bathrooms complete with guards in the process of using them, you've got research rooms, mutant holding cells, and even the occasional aftermath of a containment breach that happened before you got off the elevator.

Blake Stone: Aliens of Gold is a first person shooter game developed by JAM Productions and published by Apogee Software in 1993 for DOS PCs, and would easily be considered one of the better "clones" of the original Wolfenstein 3D.

In the distant future, the evil Dr. Pyrus Goldfire has been twisting the STAR Institute, and the brilliant scientific minds it employs, toward the creation of genetically engineered mutants. With an army of monsters, Goldfire plans to take over the Earth.. unless Blake Stone, a British secret agent, can stop him!
