BLENDER & SUBSTANCE PAINTER: USING UDIMS FOR MULTIPLE PANEL TEXTURING (PART 3)
SPECIAL TOPIC: ANCHOR POINTS IN SUBSTANCE PAINTER
This is (I think?) the final texturing video in the KURSK SUBMARINE series. In this video, I add a rectangular alpha to create an inset border around the master control buttons and I also use a circular alpha and an alpha of bars (which I created for the texturing of Device 2 in a previous video) to create a vent-like structure just below the dials on panel 4.
But those alphas don't really look convincing ... we need dirt to fill the cavities. So I use an "anchor point layer" with the height channel set to "passthrough" to connect the layers with the inset border and vent alphas to the dirt generator on a layer above. Using this method, you can have one anchor point and generator affecting multiple layers below it.
The texturing is now complete aside from any tweaks and we are ready to export all the textures and set them up in Blender. If you want to see how it all comes together in Blender and check out the final result, please come back for the next video.
