The Old Hunter Bone is located at the abandoned old workshop. You must take the elevator from the Cathedral ward and head for the Healing Church. From that point drop down safely and open the door that leads to the abandoned old workshop. The Old Hunter Bone will be resting near a grave.
This may be the first Hunter Tool you will acquire in your progress of Bloodborne. It has an Arcane Attribute requirement of 15. This is relatively low for most other Hunter Tools in the game. It originally cost 6 Quick Silver Bullets to cast, this was later brought down to only four QS ( Quick Silver Bullets ) since some patches.
The Old Hunter Bone can be used with Blood Bullets which can let you cast it much more often if the player would like. It last around sixteen seconds per cast. The Old Hunter Bone will speed up your rolling maneuver as well as your quick step. This can be useful for speed-runs and all around in-game mobility.
In PvP ( Player vs Player ), using the Old Hunter Bone can be tricky against your opponent. You are granted a brief moment of stealth when rolling with the bone active. This allows the player to possibly cause confusion and lead your foe into your cause of misdirection.
The main problem with the Old Hunter Bone is that you well not gain any extra I-frames ( invincibility time ). This means you can pretty much still get hit as often as you would rolling normally. The Old Hunter Bone will not allow the player to boost through enemies or even other Nonplayable characters as well.
In conclusion, I find the animation to be really cool on this item. It also has a nice sound effect. Bloodborne is claimed as a much faster-paced game than the souls series. In this case, this item bars none due to the extra speed and mobility you will acquire from using it.
