Bonjour, tout le monde! With a new version comes a new Hero!

Ol' Steven is surprisingly technical. While he wasn't the Follow Mouse version of Quincy that I expected, he DOES have the exact extreme of the same Camo and Lead handling that Quincy has as I guessed. Etienne costs $850 but has high range as a Hero, used to check for targets for his Drones to shoot at. However, the Drones have a habit of hunting down leading Bloons which can confuse their movement, so they can easily waste shots, and the Pierce is miserable, so Etienne has to worry about clusters and floods early on. However, the high Range does allow for Etienne's Drones to tear down high profile targets that aren't Leads, so he has a good time against Regens.

Etienne also gets Camo detection at Level 5, and with his Fast EXP Curve, he will get there before Round 24, trivializing the Camo Green. At Level 8, he also provides--get this--Camo detection for ALL Towers, regardless of where they are on the map. Yes, I know. I snickered at the first sight of that when labbing the guy. So it would seem I would never need the Radar Village, right? Well, the thing is, Etienne can only damage Leads with one of his specialties, via explosions that of course can't damage Blacks/Zebras and therefore can't do anything to DDTs. So I end up needing MIB anyway. There's your explanation for why I have Etienne placed in a touch-and-go position, or else I'd have him in the upper right in an attempt to simply maximize his range. Thankfully, Etienne's placement footprint isn't too big, though I nearly placed him further to the west than I would have liked.

Going into the Specialties, the first one, Drone Swarm, diminishes as Etienne's Level goes up, adding 4 temporary Drones consistently, and Etienne goes from 1 permanent Drone to 4. The Drones aren't entirely adept, but they get the job done in early game and having 5 Drones instead of 1 can really bust down a flood or cluster when needed. Mind you, I do have to wonder why the cooldown improvements aren't better, but at least the whole thing works out decently. As for UCAV (short for Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle), this thing EASILY justifies its immense cooldown, because it throws about so many missiles that it ends up dealing incredible damage. Granted, spaced attack Rounds like 63 do ensure that you'd have to make sure you can thwart the lesser threats, but the biggest threat will still be weakened heavily enough and you can expect to cut the RBE in half at the very worst--a fresh Ceramic would become Blacks and Whites after 4 missiles, and the Whites would then be wiped out by the followup missiles. The Pierce isn't incredible (25 total) but the whole host of missiles can tear at anything that isn't a ridiculously tightly knit cluster of lesser bloons.

By the way, the update buffed Sniper to have them attack faster other than B2+ firing at the same rates as ever. I actually had my Middle Path Sniper go Top Crosspath to have him feast upon this and oh wow, I end up with a surprising result for Round 98. The T5 upgrade having longer stun/debuff durations against the middle blimps in particular is also a nice touch. I think it'll be a matter of time before Sniper is in a comfortable enough spot with balance.
