Board Game Discussion - Cheating
Beyond "fixing" rules. Beyond the mistakes. Past the newbie errors. What happens when gamers actively cheat and break the rules? Why do they do it, and what does it mean for us?Let's discuss! Check out my Patreon and become a sponsor! - https://www.patreon.com/dannycgamingsci
In the past, I've talked about the importance of people following rules and, more importantly, that I'm generally OK with bending or altering rules for the sake of having a fun time at the table. What about going beyond that, though? What if you have a player (or players) who are actively going against the rules and cheating to get ahead? What does it mean, and how do we handle it?
Here, I talk about some of my own experiences in dealing with cheaters at the table and how I personally handle it, particularly the delicate balance we need to strike in talking with the people involved. As always, though, I want to know what YOU think. How do you deal with folks cheating at the table? Do you do things differently at home versus the FLGS? Let me know in the comments!
