Okay, so apparently the world doesn't want me to have any time to play games, much less share the games I like with those of you who somehow find your way to these videos. That's okay...I'm a little disappointed to have found myself so busy for so long, because I really could use a break longer than a handful of minutes a day just to keep my sanity up.

More One Piece and the others will pick up when I've got more time, but I figured that maybe those of you who who might, for whatever reason, patiently hang on my every upload might deserve SOMETHING for all that thankless waiting, maybe even if it's not exactly what you were looking for.

So here I bring you something...the only extended sitting of gameplay in weeks, from Saturday, when I happened to have a friend and his sister over, giving me an excuse to entertain company instead of doing work, which I probably needed more than I knew. We played a couple of games, some Mario Kart, and some Tatsunoko vs. Capcom...and of course this game, Bomberman Generation!

Unfortunately, only the Bomberman captures felt like cooperating, but I decided that it was more important to keep my guests entertained than it was to get enough quality footage to throw all of their performances up on YouTube.

---

Honestly, I love Bomberman, and this one is one makes a pretty nice presentation while still having all of the things I've come to expect from the series in terms of multiplayer experience.

There are also some really great DS Bomberman games which allow for up to eight players with only one game card, and an indirect sequel to this one as a tie-in (or maybe cash-in) with the television series, and some WiiWare games, too...but except for the first DS game, I haven't been able to get any hands-on time with them.

So basically all I've got for you until my workload and incidental emergencies stabilize is a little sample of how this game looks and plays in multiplayer to show for all my time of not being able to play games.

---

For those unfamiliar with this old and storied series, the basic premise is that you can set bombs to blow up breakable walls and your opponents as well as yourself in an effort to be the last Bomber standing.

As you blow up walls, you reveal power-ups which impart varying sorts of effects and abilities, like increasing the number of bombs you can carry, the range of your bombs' explosions, the ability to throw bombs, the ability to kick bombs, and even a couple of replacement bomb types.

Most battlefields follow similar design patterns, and I'll be showing you a handful of the different types across the various matches seen here.

---

All of these matches are played by myself as the White Bomber (P1), a friend of mine as the Black Bomber (P2), his sister as the Red Bomber (P3), and a computer controlling the remaining Blue Bomber (P4).

We begin our tour of the Generation's battle mode with Standard Battle on the Standard stage...a hand-me down classic from even the oldest of Bomberman games, and generally the standard against which all other stages can be compared.

One thing particular to this game that should be noted is that the player who wins a set of matches will be granted the temporary state of being the Golden Bomber in the next set of matches. This is a purely aesthetic change, although it might catch the eye of the other human players, making them inclined to take you out for your garish gold plating.

In addition, the Golden Bomber to-be gets to play a little minigame called PK Bomber (as in penalty kick, from soccer), where they get to shoot for any of several power-ups to be applied to their Bomber at the beginning of each round, instead of starting over from scratch. Beware, however...if your shot is blocked, you'll instead be saddled with a Speed Down item for the entirety of the next match instead.

Since this wasn't actually our first match, you'll notice that there's already a Gold Bomber in play.

Stay tuned for some more neat bomb-action!

(I have no idea what's up with the blue line on the side of this video, but it's present in all of the videos in this capture series.)
