Let's impress the Council in this episode of XCOM: The Long War. A big ol' plasma bomb has been placed in a train depot, and conveniently enough there are a bunch of green boxes that we somehow have the technology to tap and deactivate. For all of the high stakes alien drama in XCOM, it does feel a bit gamey.

Fortunately,l the Long War mod saves the day by immediately swarming my team with aliens from all sides. So that's a plus. Will my entire squad make it out alive?

XCOM the Long War is a total conversion mod for XCOM: Enemy Within, a wildly and deservedly popular squad based strategy action game released by 2k and Firaxis Games. A sequel, XCOM 2, is due out later in 2015. In The Long War, you are all that stands between humanity and an alien menace, but with a much longer campaign and refined tech tress and classes, there is a lot for experienced players to bite into, chew, and learn.
