Maybe it won't be so bad. It's still early enough that the serene woods and abandoned construction site will only have enemies firing lasers 2 tiers above our research level at us. You know, nothing terrible.

XCOM the Long War is a total conversion mod for XCOM: Enemy Within, a wildly and deservedly popular squad based strategy action game released by 2k and Firaxis Games. A sequel, XCOM 2, is due out later in 2015. In The Long War, you are all that stands between humanity and an alien menace, but with a much longer campaign and refined tech tress and classes, there is a lot for experienced players to bite into, chew, and learn.
