Borderlands® 2 VR, PSVR #1, PS4 Pro, Move controllers
As is my norm, I waited for this to be on sale before I picked it up.
I prefer Borderlands VR much more than Skyrim VR, from a density standpoint. Skyrim VR takes itself so seriously. Borderlands scratched a better itch for me.
The first part is a gunfight, the second part is me figuring out how to upgrade my grenade (which is confusing - apparently you pick up charges, but you upgrade your grenade slot and they explode according to your upgrade. Oh well, it's a game mechanic.), and the third part is getting a car and trying it out.
This is my first playthrough, and my first time driving a vehicle. I'm still getting the hang of things. I'm playing the Gunzerker.
I would MUCH prefer the Aim cotnroller, but the game doesn't support it yet. I did much better at Doom VFR with the Aim Controller, and I know this game will be no different. Hopefully Gearbox gets the Aim controller support in this game soon. That won't stop me from playing, though - I'm having a pretty good time. It's just that pointing the left wand to move around makes my fights much less nimble, because I tend to stay pointed forward instead of quickly move around, ducking in and out of cover. I also keep forgetting to use the free BAMF slow down, which would help a lot.
I should note that I tried this game some time back on the PC, and I didn't really 'get it'. But my gaming style was different back then, too - I was playing and GMing tabletop RPGs more often and had my fill of those aspects, the job I had kept my brain very busy in a heavy style, and I was trying to figure out what kind of game development I wanted to pursue. Since then, I'm a bit more socialized and relaxed at my job and took a break from GMing RPGs and pressure myself about them a lot less, so the humor in the game and the respect it shows to its players gets through to me a lot more today. I appreciate it a lot more. It's a cool game.
