Bravely Default is a turn-based role-playing game developed by Square Enix. The story begins as a chasm opens and destroys a town and follows the lone survivor of the event, Tiz Arrior. Tiz meets up with a mysterious girl named Agnès, who ends up being the equivalent of a guardian for one of four stones. She is on a mission to awaken all four of those stones and is fighting against an enemy army that wants to keep control of the crystals. The game is named after the battle controls, which include "braving" or taking an advance on your turns but being unable to act later, and "defaulting" or guarding and storing up on extra turns. This piece is the main theme from this epic adventure. It has a giant beginning section which leads into a jazz sections that features the double bass and saxophone sections.

Bravely Default is also from the ancient times of 8-bit. Originally performed back in 2014 and arranged by past arranger Justin Jefferson, we call back to the beginning of 8-bit with this piece, while still pushing 8-bit forward for the next generation.

The 8-Bit Orchestra was inspired by the University of Maryland Gamer Symphony Orchestra, the first collegiate ensemble dedicated to performing video game music.

8-Bit pieces are arranged by students, conducted by students, and performed by students of the University of Delaware. The group organizes concerts twice a year: at the end of the fall and spring semesters. Starting with a group of around 40, now reaching nearly 60 members from a wide variety of majors, the 8-Bit Orchestra is continuing to grow. Today, we are the largest instrumental music RSO on campus, and have been invited to perform at off-campus events like Minefaire, the Minecraft fan convention.
