I subscribed to unreal engine 4 and made a breakout protoype in a few days - learning blueprints, editor, materials, physics etc.
It's a straightforward breakout protoype with nice levels, but no user interface or any type of game state like lives, score etc.
Sorry for the poor performance - no optimization yet and my system is crap.
