One last boss before Myria Station. Manmo is somewhat comparable to Elder in power, but isn't as healthy and has an elemental weakness. Ryu can go dragon if he so pleases again, but this is rather difficult to pull off successfully considering the boss spams Howling and Ryu doesn't have enough AP to splice in genes that protect against negative status. And of course, he would die in one hit if targeted, even if transformed. No good.
Our last master, Ladon, becomes available before traversing the Desert of Death, granting everyone 75% fire resistance, and a quarter to status and instant death immunity. A worthy alternative to Meryleep's +10% avoid. With a status inoculation, we're still not quite there at 100% immunity to Howling, but it's close enough. Since Rei is going Weretiger in this battle, casting Influence on him will ensure he's hacking away at the boss all the time whether or not he gets confused (Influence affects confused and berserked units alike).
Now, about the boss's weakness... Ice attacks strike him twice as hard, so it's definitely worth it to give Rei the Heavy Dagger instead of the knife with the best Pwr available to him (will hopefully be Holy Avenger soon). He triples attack when going Weretiger, so super-effective blows will beat regular ones in damage noticeably.
Oh, and as you might easily notice in the beginning of the video, everyone has Aries Gloves equipped, stolen from Berserker of course. This will do for now, but we'll be returning to grab some other nice stuff from him and ArchMage *hint hint*.
Manmo has 35 speed, so he's only EX-turned by Rei on this run. Rei will need two Speed boosts to achieve it. Garr still probably needs the Speed Boots accessories to simply outspeed the boss without getting an extra turn, which is still useful for providing the team with some support while being able to react to characters getting injured.
Somehow, Ladon + status inoculation still don't prevent Garr from getting status'd, and things almost get lucky when Garr decides to attack Ryu before I can deal with the difficulties that arose. Of course, Rei could handle the situation easily even if the worst had happened and Garr were confused with Ryu knocked out.
In the end, Rei transforms and gets a really big crit on the boss, and the victory is so close from there. Now it's time to tackle Myria Station and its bosses!
