Time for the route split. With a lv. 20 Elphin, we can't help but go to Sacae instead of Illia, which is probably still rather good for turn counts and not necessarily a bigger headache in comparison either. The biggest difference in terms of enemies faced is that all the pegs and cavs are gone in favour of nomads and wyverns. Nomads are noticeably harder to connect your attacks on, very agile and deadly to flying units not carrying the Delphi Shield. The short bow ones can easily score a crit on many of our folks, which is usually devastating.

The very first chapter we have to complete in Sacae is a Fog of War map, so warpskipping it is complicated by the fact we cannot warp into areas of the map that haven't been revealed. But that's fine; we can 2-turn this map just fine without any warping! The only thing we need is Clarine and some creativity with movement.

Elphin taking a Body Ring a few chapters ago is essential for this strat to work. Clarine gets rescued so that Elphin can take her, and after Zeiss received his dance to drop Karel pretty close to the throne (close enough to be rescued with the staff the next turn that is), the double dancing commences until Lalum is placed conveniently in a forest while Elphin drops Clarine just before the boss so that she can chip in and get a little experience. Most importantly, she gets ready to use the Rescue staff on Karel next turn - that's the staff we invested a Warp use into obtaining in chapter 16.

Karel getting two dances on the 2nd turn to kill the boss (5-6HKO with the Wo Dao iirc) and seize allows us to conserve a warp staff use to maintain low turn counts in a map where warping isn't easy, allowing us to Warp more liberally in the following chapters.

A lot of other things happen here. Since I'm so poor, I send two units to the arena to get some money (probably could've sent even more), accompanied by a flier who can rescue one of them to let the other one go in. Percival is really a wreck on this run, not even doubling the enemy Warrior in the arena. Dayan fails to double his nomad opponent, too.

Fa is deployed because of her HM bonus-bolstered bases, getting her first level-up, and it's a very nice one. Yuno also levels up, getting another point of strength. Maybe there will be a reason to keep using her after all (and she's still capable of using the Durandal, of course). Shin also gets a really good level-up, but it's not clear if he'll keep appearing in this runthrough - no chance he will get promoted at all. He would've been bulkier than Dayan on the physical side, but Dayan does have the superior offence (and way better weapon ranks to enable us to use Murgleis in the endgame chapters, with some more work invested into building the rank).
