Building a Safe Falling Respawn System in Unreal Engine 5 #unrealengine5 #gamedevelopment
In this Unreal Engine 5 tutorial, I walk through how to build a dynamic falling respawn system. When the player falls out of bounds, the system can either find the closest defined respawn point or, in an open world setup, fire a line trace from above and move the player to a safe location. It also includes logic to ensure the respawn point is on navigable terrain, avoiding structures or blocked areas. Super useful for both linear and open world games.
