BZCC Total Command Mod Gameplay - Mission SS16: Tapping the Core
The ending of the Rise of the Black Dogs campaign was very important because it gave more details about the connection between both Battlezone games, as the epilogue of that mission provided hints on Braddock's ascension among the ranks of the NSDF until becoming in charge of the future ISDF, and how the Black Dogs Squadron and Major Frank Burns got involved in Project Pedigree. All of them played a pivotal plot in the sequel which are shown in the first 24 videos of this playlist if you want to check out those events. Alternatively, the creator of this mod made a reimagined version of the ISDF/Scion War (or Second Bio-metal War if you prefer), called "Alien Incursion", which I'll upload someday. Well, enough advertisement. The description of this video as such starts in the next paragraph.
The combined NSDF and CCA forces found a way to exploit the mindless approach to battle adopted by the Furies and destroyed their base on Titan, forcing them to retreat to a previously uncharted moon orbiting Uranus, named Achilles, which was appropriate to define the NSDF Command's most urgent concern: where was the fatal weakness of the Furies that made possible for the Cthonians to destroy them before?
While their search was still underway, they knew for sure that keeping on the fight was the only way forward. However, they would need all the help they could ask for. Therefore, they didn't only ask the CCA to stay together in this joint effort and order the Black Dogs from Commander Harris' company to join the assault, but they extended the distress call to the Crimson Bears Battalion, who recently broke their alliance with the Arkin Industries Privateers upon the latter's defeat; and the Chinese Red Army, who were already defeated by that time, but still had some spare Heavy Tanks and Walkers out there to lend a hand for the sake of mankind. These extra reinforcements should help to even the odds against the Furies' superior technology, although the NSDF Command still doubt if it will be enough to turn the tide of the conflict on mankind's favor...
This mission is much harder here than in the original game. The Furies' attacks are much easier to handle there, as they lack of the variety of units they have here. But in the original version there weren't any reinforcements, so there is a compensation for the higher threat that Fury Walkers and other extremely beefy enemies pose against the player's base. In the end, it is a very enjoyable mission, once you learn how to make your base defense withstand the heaviest Fury onslaughts.
Although, I must ask: The Red Hammer appearing for both CCA and Crimson Bears reinforcements? Seriously? I wonder if that was made on purpose...
Will the combined mankind forces be enough to take out the Fury Factories, or these ruthless machines will prevail and rampage across the Solar System?
See you in the next video!
