Call of Duty: WWII is a first-person shooter video game developed by Sledgehammer Games and published by Activision. It is the fourteenth primary installment in the Call of Duty series and was released worldwide on November 3, 2017 for Microsoft Windows and the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles.
WWII is the first title since the original Call of Duty 2: Big Red One not to feature health regeneration in the campaign. Instead, players must rely on their medic squadmates to provide health packs, as well as other squad members to provide ammunition. Other squad members can spot enemies, revealing their position in form of silhouettes.[5] Enemy soldiers in the campaign can be captured, and wounded allies can be dragged to cover. Both of these actions, as well as killing enemies and completing objectives, add up to player's experience (XP) which can be increased and improve the character's skills. In some parts of the campaign, players will be able to control vehicles.
German engineer Marie Fischer is sent on a mission by her superior, Major Rideau, to retrieve lost relics stolen by the Nazis, as well as rescue her brother, Klaus, who has been unwilling working with their lead scientist Peter Straub on a project to create an army to assist the Nazis' war effort. Marie is accompanied by Drostan Hynd, Olivia Durant and Jefferson Potts, all of whom have significant knowledge on the stolen relics. However, on their train ride to Mittelburg, Bavaria, the group is attacked by an unidentified colossal being. Marie is stranded from the others, and finds herself taking temporary refuge at a small house nearby, where she holds out against hordes of undead Nazi soldiers, until she is able to make her way to the village. After reuniting with the other three, Marie and the group proceed further down into the underground area, and inside Straub's laboratory. Eventually, they encounter the creature, a humanoid-shaped amalgam of numerous body parts dubbed the Panzermörder, with Klaus fused into the creature. Using the utilities in the village, the group manages to use magnetic forces to draw the Panzermörder into a zeppelin, which explodes, seemingly killing the creature. The group recovers the stolen artifact, the hilt of King Frederick Barbarossa's sword, but its power brings Klaus back to life, but he lashes out at the group for their actions, as the artifact also turns him to an undead state.
