After returning from the Ranger Station and processing all the loot, I went back outside and from the top deck of the Skadovsk, I searched for the Loners I had recently passed. I found them having passed the ship on the port side and heading north towards the hill west of the Boiler Anomaly. I ran after them and caught up with them on the slope going up.

One of the reasons I wanted to talk to them was Cardan had given me a job to get the Advanced Tools, but he did not give me a location. At first, I thought the PDA task was bugged until I remembered a similar one where I had to go around asking people for clues or help. I had already asked everyone on the Skadovsk and no one had the time or interest. I was hoping these Loners being out in the open might be more helpful.

Instead, they needed help find a Lost Case which I took thinking it would be near the direction they were going in. It was not on that hill. It was on the other side of Zaton at the Substation. If I went there, got it and was ready to get my reward, they could move anywhere in the Zone. So, I decided to have them come with me, but instead of exposing them to danger of the trip, I took them back to the Skadovsk for them to remain there. I took the opportunity to finally give all three better weapons and then went back outside and then an Emission arrived. Afterward it was rainy and then foggy. I was not setting off as quickly as I had hoped.
