Call Of The Zone - #229: The Ecologist & Pseudogiants
Onboard the Taras Shevchenko, I spotted a Controller going through the reeds in the lower basin north of Noah. I shot at it and then went to the stern of the ship for better accuracy until I dropped it. Going up the hill to the Docks, I lit a campfire and then emptied one of the few activated stashes in Zaton, being the safe in the shack. A single neutral NPC had caught my attention on the hill above between the Ranger Station and the Preobrazhensky Bridge.
It was an Ecologist I had run into many times before, by himself and as I was talking to him I gave him the task of helping me look for my Notebook, hoping it would shed some light on where that was. Then my visibility meter went off and I spun around looking for mutants. I heard the growl of a Pseudogiant and decided to get out of there and ran down the hill. Since he was now my Companion, I got him to follow me to the Skadovsk since he had the money to buy some high end weapons and I left him there for now.
I went back outside and saw a pack of three blind dogs being chased by a Pseudogiant. They lost and I made sure the Pseudogiant did not walk away victorious. I sure was seeing a lot of Pseudogiants lately. I wonder if it had to do anything with my rank going up for the increase in those and the Controllers too. I had a friend warn me that can happen.
