Having previously gotten a message of Freedom being attacked by Loners at the Jupiter Checkpoint and having gotten a "green" unidentified and unseen NPC on the hilltop afterwards, I felt that the Loners must have won that battle. I decided to go up there to find out. Halfway up the hill I realized I had just passed a Controller leaving the Parking Lot. At the Checkpoint, I found a three-man Loner squad there, with two dead Freedom already looted. The squad leader gave me the task of find an L-85 rifle but I knew I didn't have one. I didn't bring any weapons to sell them, so I decided to take them back to the Mobile Lab and sell them what I had on hand.

When I looked at the inventory of all three of them, I realized one was carrying and using an L-85. So, I got an Armsel Striker, had it repaired, and I took the L-85 and gave him the new shotgun. Then I was able to accomplish my task. I sold the rest of the weapons I had until they had no more money. I decided to keep them there for now, which means I now had 10 Companions. Eight Loners, one Ecologist and one Clear Sky. When I went topside, I found another Companion on the roof and had to get him back inside. It was starting to get foggy outside, so I reviewed by PDA Maps and tasks. The two Ecologist were still on the outside with me.
