Can You Beat S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky With Explosive Bolts?
4Back in 2011, Scar was using explosive bolts before they were cool. After being picked up by Clear Sky, they hooked him up with a bottomless bag of these explosive devices and the rest was history. Join him as he makes his permanent mark on the Zone and whatever remains of his deceased enemies in his quest to stop Strelok once and for all!
At 7:50 in this video, to initiate Father Valerian's dialogue, an alternative route that could be used in glitchless speedruns of this game would involve running against the corner of the stalkers' base (as shown in the video from 8:23) rather than going into this building and taking slightly longer to progress the final stage of this mission (the part where you find out where the loot case is). Before initiating Father Valerian's dialogue, one can quicksave their game and quickload their game until the loot case spawns near the Rookie Village as this is the quickest spawn point to acquire it from. Furthermore, doing this ensures that the player can quickload their game if the loot case spawns in a different location; the game picks the loot case's spawn point at random once Father Valerian's dialogue is initiated during the final stage of this mission.
Shooting Strelok with the Gauss Rifle will not grant the player a kill as Strelok is not scripted to die at any point in the game.
I also hint at using a special glitch during this run. I was able to perform what is known as the "Elevator Glitch" in the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. speedrunning community. Special thanks to a YouTube user named Magpie for publishing a tutorial on how to do this glitch as well as a method of skipping the Brain Scorcher. The elevator glitch can be performed in all three S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games as well as the many mods based on them. His tutorial on this can be accessed here:
