Can You Beat S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl With Explosive Bolts?
5Everything is an anomaly. The stalkers, the mutants, the scripted ambient gunfire... Everything is now an anomaly and everything must be extinguished with these new destructive combat devices that are taking the Zone by storm. Explosive bolts are all the rage this season!
The pseudogiant that I kill shortly after hinting at an in-game coding bug can be explained as follows; the mutant, the pseudogiant itself, in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl is extremely easy to kill. A few shots from an assault rifle or even a grenade (or two) will kill it with ease. This doesn't happen in the later two games in the original S.T.A.L.K.E.R. trilogy, which leaves me with the conclusion that this mutant being so weak in this game is an error on the part of the developers, an error that made it into the full release of this game.
Just after 25:17 in this video, you'll see me get shot through where the floor and wall in front of me lie adjacent to each other in a perpendicular fashion (picture a 90-degree angle in your head). The Monolithians above this area, towards the top of the staircase, can shoot through this bit. At 25:24, my crosshairs are hovering over this glitched piece of level geometry (the glitched collision is not visible just by looking at it). Just above this bit is the doorway that leads towards the end of the game.
Also, players can easily break the Brain Scorcher and the AI of a few Monolithians in the Red Forest by saving and loading the game in a very specific way.
