Hoodless vehicles are a rare find in Saints Row and Saints Row 2. Join me as I investigate what causes these to spawn and how you can enable these to spawn in your own game.

For reference, I used Notepad++ (linked below) to check and edit the .xtbl files in Saints Row. Extracting .vpp_xbox2 files, as well as other file extensions that the Saints Row games make use of, can be done via the SDK (software development kit) linked below.

Checking the Beater variant of the Destiny in the car_4dr_standard05.xtbl file (found in the misc.vpp_xbox2 and variants.vpp_xbox2 packfiles for Saints Row), the vehicle's Hood variable is on line 10 and the Chance value for this part to spawn on the Beater variant of this vehicle is on line 15. Other variants of this vehicle in this same file have their own Chance variables that need to be changed to 0 to guarantee that the hoodless Destiny appears in-game, too.

Also, changing an affected vehicle's hood via any in-game auto shop will not allow the player to remove the vehicle's hood again to the point where it will stay absent even after the vehicle is blow up or repaired. Any other vehicle in this video that doesn't have a hood, besides the ones highlighted in this video, were damaged to the point where their hood was no longer attached.
