Capcom Fighting Evolution - PART 2 - The Most Hated Crossover Fighting Game

I remember back in the early 2000's I entered the phase where I wanted to collect all these amazing classic Capcom crossover fighting games and honestly I never really did quite leave that phase behind completely. In fact, it was around the same time I got Capcom vs. SNK 2 that I got this game: Capcom Fighting Evolution. For this episode I'm playing Alex and Guy because I want them to take Alex with them in the next Final Fight game. This game isn't very much a team fighter, and it's a lacking crossover to say the least. You pick two characters but you can actually just play that single character and never use the other character on your team if you so want which doesn't make a lot of sense. The backgrounds and the soundtrack is mostly lack luster as you can easily tell it was quickly thrown together. Character mechanics are locked off to the series in which they belong to, so SF2 Ryu can only super but not parry or do custom combos from the Alpha series and this is very limiting making exploring characters not very fun. And the end of the arcade run brings you the same ending track for every character with a splash art panel and nothing much else. This is essentially the gist of why everyone hates this game, but to be honest I have a soft spot for it because it takes me back to that time in which I was first finding these games and buying them plus Alex is in this game so immediate 10/10 from me.
