Captain Commando (Arcade) CO-OP Playthrough / Fighting crime never changes, but officers do.
Captain Commando (1991) by Capcom is a classic and respected representative of the beat'em up genre, by many people...... but for us it is a “Play and forget” game. Not that the game is bad or anything, it just somehow didn't convince us. Apparently, we do not belong to the audience that was established for this game. It's such a strange mix of infantilism and seriousness, and somehow it was hard for us to get over it in this case. However, we prefer it when a game focuses on one theme..... but there are exceptions like Metal Slug, which did it phenomenally well. In the game, we take on the role of a group fighting organized crime in the Metro City of the future. The group is led by the titular Captain Commando, whose trademark is metal hands capable of razing opponents with electricity. The group also includes Ninja Warrior Ginzu, a walking Mummy called Mack “the knife” and a two-year-old genius operating the cybernetic armor Baby Head..... yeahhh I don't like this character idea too much but well it's in the game and you have to respect it. In the game we will be forced to go through many places ...... which apparently from the perspective of the criminal group are very important operational places...... like museum, circus, aquarium :D I will leave it without comment. The game is very colorful and nicely animated but overall makes a rather average impression. The maps look really nice in spite of the fact that they are not rather prudent place to conduct activities..... if you know what I mean. The designs of the bosses as well as the enemies somehow failed to impress, which reflected on the final rating of the game. Do we recommend it? Rather not. There are many other better games in the genre even older than it. But if you have the desire, please play it, and it is possible that you will like it, as you may be among the target audience of this game.
