So far, we've done Federation, Klingon, Gorn, and Hydran. So we are starting Lyran campaign today, and we'll conclude with the Romulans.

The Lyrans are mortal enemies of the Mirak / Kzinti. Kzinti appeared once in Star Trek the Animated Series, in the episode "The Slaver Weapon". Lyran ships are designed specifically to counter Mirak, who uses a lot of missiles. The Lyran special weapon is called the "expanding sphere generator" (ESG), which is basically a special force field that can be used to swat missiles, fighters, shuttles, or even ram starship shields.
Anyway, let's go through the Academy, and go on a few missions.

Nothing too special, except I got dinged pretty hard by the Stinger fighters, and if I had to kill that second Federation cruiser I can be in trouble.
Pirates!

Kill a pirate as my intro mission? Simple enough. The problem with Lyran ships is they don't SEEM to do a lot of damage outright. But against pirates is not a big problem.
Convoy Escort
-----------------------
Escort a bunch of freighters. Sounds easy, until you realize you're up against TWO pirates, and you simply don't have enough peak damage to kill either quickly.
I killed two, only to have ANOTHER two appear? And somehow they CAPTURED one of the freighters? And that captured freighter, instead of leaving, started to shoot up the starbase? I killed all four, and that captured freighter got blown up, but why did I get conflicting evaluations, and ONLY 80 prestige? Should be well over 150... Something's glitchy...
