A Magical School for Detectives!

-------------------------

Welcome back for another CDP based on one of my IRL deckbuilds, and today's deck makes the most of the current deckbuilding trend of combining the best of multiple engines into one cohesive build. For today's deck, I'm using a complete K9 package, packed to the brim with the best the theme has to offer. First up, the existence of K9-17 Izuna strongly discourages your opponent from using monster effects in the hand, because the cost of doing so gives you a free R5NK Xyz Summon into something like K9-17 "Ripper" that isolates you from further hand traps. On the other hand, K9-66a Jokul and K9-66b Lantern enable access to R5NK Xyz Summons even if your opponent doesn't use a hand trap, allowing you to build a board of versatile interruptions, from N.As.H Knight to Vallon, the Super Psy Skyblaster. Even if you have to Normal Summon one, the other can quickly follow due to the search effects on field, and that pressure can truly put the pressure on the opponent to make trade-offs on how they want to play the duel.

Now the K9 element is just one part of today's build, the bigger engine consists of the Artmage archetype. Led by Artmage Academic Arcane Arts Acroplis [AAAAA], this archetype easily extends onto the board while also giving you a suite of unique interruptions for the opponent's turn. Since AAAAA can discard any S/T card to grab your first Artmage, you will have plenty of access to the whole theme, especially after you realize they can chain together. How? Well Artmage Graflare sets an Artmage S/T on summon, so if you grab Artmage Vandalism -Assault-, you can then tutor your copy of Medius the Pure, use Medius to grab Artmage Power Patron, then Fusion Summon Artmage Diactorus. Not only do you get an additional Artmage S/T search out of the deal, but you also get an omni-negate, since you will have 3 Monster Types on your field! Always remember that your K9 plays can also contribute additional monster Types, allowing you to make the most of a diversified field at any point of the duel! The Artmage may have been overlooked when initially revealed, but don't get caught sleeping on them - with Quick Effects to negate all of your opponents monsters and/or wipe all cards from the opponents board, this deck brings a ton of unexpected power for a Rogue option!
