Interesting type combinations return, as today I am featuring the PSY-Frame and Primoredial themes together with a really cool subengine of Cyberse cards. Let's start with the PSY-Frame, this LIGHT Psychic archetype consists primarily of hand-traps, each able to be activated in response to an opponent's action while you control no monsters. For example, PSY-Framegear Epsilon responds to an opponent's activated Trap Card, Special Summoning itself from the hand and a PSY-Frame Driver from the hand/deck/GY, then negating the activation. Unfortunately this also fates both Special Summoned monsters to be banished during the End Phase. Now this theme was designed to require its Field Spell, PSY-Frame Circuit to immediately Synchro Summon using those summoned monsters, to avoid the banishment; however, there's now a new way to get that Driver back into your GY for re-use: The Primoredial!
You see, Imperial Dragon the Primoredial Dragon can be Tribute Summoned during the opponent's Main Phase, using any Normal Monster, such as Driver! He also negates the effects of all face-up monsters they control, and banishes any LIGHTs or Psychics, but that's not really the point here. With a minimized dependence on Circuit, the deck no longer needs to run suboptimal techs like Hop Ear Squadron, it can just focus on the disruptive effects during their turn. Beyond Imperial Dragon, the Primoredial theme also adds Primoredial Schiller and Primoredial Tremors to their disruption, as the prior can destroy a face-up card each turn while the latter can respond to a Normal Summon by banishing a monster on the field with lower ATK than your Driver! Ensuring consistency to all of these items is Primoredial Imperialode, plus it gives you a Driver to work with on your field, when needed.
So, the PSY-Frame deck is even better at playing during the opponent's turn? Great. The other problem with the deck was having something meaningful to do during your turn, and that's where the Cyberse engine pops up. There are three good options here: Lady Debug, Cyberse Gadget, and Firewall Guardian, and let's breakdown each. Debug is first, and on summon, it tutors any Level 3 or lower Cyberse, and in today's build, that will always be EM:P Meowmine. Next, you turn Debug into Link Disciple, Special Summon EM:P to become Link Devotee, Tribute Devotee with Disciple to get a free Draw and 2 Tokens for your troubles. From there, the remaining Token becomes Salamangreat Balelynx, and you can Link Summon PSY-Framelord Lambda, removing the no-monsters requirement for your PSY-Framegear monsters. This combo also leaves a Token to tribute your Primoredial Dragon, even without a Driver on the field! The benefit to this combo is that EM:P carries an additional disruption during their turn, if they happen to remove your Lambda from the field. As for the second option, Cyberse Gadget is a one-card combo into Desciple/Devotee, that also happens to Special Summon a Level 2 or lower monster as well, perfect to combo with your PSY-Framegear Tuners! And for the third, Guardian is another one-card combo into Desciple/Devotee that can also serve as a battle trick in a pinch, since it can keep being recycled back to the GY with PSY-Framelord Omega!
