CEMU 1.15.2 (Patreon Release) - 40 Minutes of Star Fox Zero 4K 60 FPS
Since GamePad audio has finally been implemented in this release of CEMU, you can now properly hear the radio chatter in this game making it more enjoyable to play in CEMU.
I am playing using a Dualshock 4 controller like I usually do for most games with gyroscope controls, and I would recommend doing so because this game was designed entirely with motion controls in mind and is really difficult without them. The game seems to render perfectly and is fully playable (though you need to use Full sync at GX2DrawDone in order for all of the graphics to render correctly). The game does have some performance drops sometimes but these happened even on Wii U. Hopefully that can be resolved in the future.
However, while the game is technically playable, I believe it won't truly be enjoyable in CEMU until Wii U GamePad support is added, complete with the ability to see the GamePad screen on an actual GamePad. The game was primarily designed with the idea that you see the cockpit view on the GamePad screen and the more cinematic third-person view on the TV screen. You then use the gyroscope while shooting to more finely aim your crosshair, but only the cockpit view offers an accurate angle of where the crosshair is actually pointing, while the cinematic view only shows roughly where it's aiming, due to the camera angle being more zoomed out. While you can switch the view being displayed on the TV using the Minus button on the GamePad (or whatever you have set your equivalent to on your CEMU controller), there are a lot of moments in the game where they expect you to be able to be able to glance at both screens simultaneously with the TV screen in your peripheral vision, while you focus on the cockpit view on the GamePad, but this can't be done in CEMU at the momemt, making this game feel much more cumbersome to play than it ought to at points. I don't know how realistically possible it is for the CEMU devs to add full GamePad support in the future, but we can only hope it's possible and that it comes eventually. Until then, I would recommend sticking to an actual Wii U if you really want to play this game properly.
