CEMU 1.15.2 - Over An Hour of Bayonetta 2 4K 60 FPS - Crashing Fixed with Triplecore Recompiler!
So I know I only just recently posted a gameplay video of Bayonetta 2 in the Patreon release of CEMU 1.15.2, but I was under the impression the crashing issues were still a thing as even using the settings from CEMU wiki resulted in crashes, even if they reduced the likelihood of it.
Someone on reddit mentioned in regards to my last video though, that Bayonetta 2 is actually stable if you run the game in Triplecore-Recompiler mode and it turns out that is indeed true. I've played multiple sessions with the game that have gone for well over an hour without any crashes, and the frame rate is much more consistently staying at 60 FPS too (it would sometimes drop into the 40 FPS range in some more demanding scenarios with Singlecore Recompiler). The crashes were totally random with Singlecore Recompiler and not tied to any area or scene of the game, so I think with Triplecore Recompiler, you can fully play through the game if your PC can handle it. I always hear people complaining about this game not being playable yet but I think the problem was really that the need for Triplecore Recompiler is not common knowledge, as there is very little mention of this fact in discussions surrounding the game from what I've searched. This is an easy mistake to make though as Triplecore Recompiler actually causes crashing in a lot of games, so it's odd that it has the opposite effect for Bayonetta 2. Either way, hopefully this video can help spread awareness. Dualcore Recompiler may also help if your CPU can't use Triplecore Recompiler.
Once again, here is my game profile for Bayonetta 2 for getting the most stable and accurate experience currently possible in CEMU, now with the inclusion of the Triplecore Recompiler setting.
[General]
useRDTSC = false
[Graphics]
GPUBufferCacheAccuracy = 0
[CPU]
cpuMode = Triplecore-Recompiler
Character shadows are still generally missing and there's still some flickering graphics on occasion and some slight audio stutter but other than those fairly minor issues, the game plays and looks as it should and I would consider it playable.
