Top Hunter: Roddy & Cathy laid the groundwork for SNK titles like the Metal Slug series: Cartoony, over-the-top side-scrolling action games with guns and robots and absurdity and dudes fishing in the background. (Though I've yet to see a Metal Slug title with a giant enraged howler monkey.) Travelling across four planets, they're on the hunt for wanted criminals (and the requisite cash reward) and will stop at nothing to proceed to the right, forward and backward across two planes of play (all Fatal Fury-style), to get their prey.
