Changing the tip of my DIY soldering iron - just a piece of copper wire.
Q: So how does this soldering iron work?
A: It uses a good old fashioned transformer to convert 220V 0.2A to a much lower voltage (i didn't measure it), but much higher amps, so the thin copper wire - the tip - will heat up quickly.
