Description: Three combatants, one thief and two Obsidian Order members, are hired to find the Water Crystal to restore a kingdom's water supply system. Unfortunately, they lose the crystal to a mysterious crystal-hunting mage. Now the party has to obtain all the other crystals before they can be used for nefarious purposes.

Apparently, Syndicate is a title for a town leader, even though in American English at least, Syndicate refers to a group. I thought Mayor would be a more appropriate title.
Syndicate Manley wants Jake, Brenda, and Nathalie to get the Water Crystal from the Chaos Tunnels.
I recommend not buying any equipment or the ice arrow skill, since those can be found in chests later.

The enemies outside don't drop much money, so I guess this is to discourage any sort of equipment grinding. Also, don't enter the dungeons other than the current story objective one, since they are too strong.

The passageways are so narrow, making it very difficult to dodge roaming encounters.
There's a campfire to heal, but don't head south from it before you explore the other forks. There's a gated room to the SE, but you don't have the correct skill to get through yet.

Now is your last chance to resupply in town.
The bridge to the crystal must be activated via a switch to the SE. Unfortunately, a mage and samurai arrive in order to steal the crystal. The mage, Fenna, accidentally knocks out her partner with a stray magic blast.

The battle can't be won, so don't waste items like me.

The party and the samurai fall through the floor. The samurai is Warren, who worked with Fenna because her brother, Bryan, is being held hostage in exchange for the all the elemental crystals. He's willing to join the party as long as it gives him a chance to save Bryan.
The campfire placement is so messed up sometimes, since it's literally hidden behind an enemy. That means if I use it to rest, that enemy will respawn and block my path again.
