Description:
Velvet was once a hunter in Aball Village, but her bro-in-law Artorius sacrificed her younger brother Laphicet in a ritual that will supposedly save the world from Daemonblight. After 3 years in an island prison, Velvet escapes to seek revenge on Artorius, even if it means embracing her newfound Daemon nature and resorting to a life of crime.

Unlike me, I recommend waiting until you get the equipment enhancement function first, since this boss is much stronger than Dyle and even some of the later bosses.
It can summon minions, so it's a good idea to use Velvet's Break Soul when the minions are nearly dead. However, the boss's sonic projectile has a fairly high stun rate and it has a delayed rock-falling attack.

Power hit combos are more complicated in this game. You have to hit every weakpoint, including species, at least once in a combo to fully convert it into a power hit combo.

Dyle reveals that the entire guild was part of the smuggling operation, but they pinned the blame on him and tried to kill him, leading to him becoming a lizardman Daemon. Velvet cuts off his tail so that he can fake his death, since his quest for vengeance might become useful to her own.

Velvet reports Dyle's death to the shipping guild, but when they hesitate to uphold their end of the bargain, Velvet threatens to report them for smuggling.
At the equipment shop, you get a tutorial on enhancing. This actually makes a decent difference in terms of stats, so make use of it if you're going to fight the stronger bonus bosses.
