White: Video Chess (Beginner)
Black: Matthew Doucette
Result: 0-1 (black wins)

My first game against Video Chess in beginner mode (and I assume normal style of play) on the TI-99/4A home computer, via Classic99 emulator.

Video Chess available options:
- Level of Play: Beginner, Novice, or Intermediate
- Style of Play: Normal, Aggressive, or Defensive (I assume "normal" play style is the strongest, from my knowledge of chess engines it is likely the most balanced which is typically the strongest.)

The game is nothing special. I force a Q vs. RR endgame (my queen versus two rooks) and wait for mistakes.

Video Chess defaulted to playing white, but if you choose "2 choose game type" you can set it to play black or quickly switch sides mid-play to play white. Both of these options I did not know at the time.

On move 33, at 22:12, I made an entry error and accidentally switched sides where Video Chess played my move for me, but fortunately played the move I was trying to enter. (You can see I was trying to type "B6 C6" for 33... Qc6+ and I typed "C6" by accident.)

P.S. To switch sides, while using the Classic99 emulator, you press the Backspace key! Do not press the Backspace key to correct a typo!

Classic99 (previously Ami99) is a freeware TI-99/4A emulator for Windows 2000 and up. System ROMs and many cartridges are INCLUDED under license from Texas Instruments: http://www.harmlesslion.com/software/classic99
