PREVIOUSLY:
As Serge and his friends entered the Sea of Eden, an advanced structure from the distant future, Chronopolis, appeared out of nowhere. Inside, they learned that El Nido was once nothing but ocean, and the archipelago itself was created artificially by FATE 10,000 years ago, and also how everything were all pre-determined and planned by FATE.

According to one of the many records of data inside the facility, the first group of staffs in Chronopolis had their memories erased and lived new lives in El Nido. What they did not know however, is that they and their descendants were all under FATE's control for the last 10,000 years, to assure that things go smoothly with life in El Nido. That however ended 14 years ago, when Serge came in contact with the Frozen Flame.

FATE, short for Future-Altering Time Entity, was a super computer created to govern the two worlds, controlling people through the Records of Fate to maintain a harmonious environment in both worlds, and prevent unnecessary events that might alter history and create a paradox. But since the formation of the Dead Sea 10 years ago, FATE had been unable to control the events in Serge's home world, though it still received data through the Records of Fate, and in addition to that, FATE was able to bind Miguel to the Dead Sea as a watchman to protect the Flame.

Serge and his companions then arrived at an area labelled "Project Kid", where the computer recognized Serge as the last arbiter, authorizing them access inside the facility, this also explained why Lynx needed Serge's body. Entering the room, they see the Frozen Flame, which turned out to be a piece of Lavos broken off during the pre-historic age. Inside they were met by Dark Serge, who revealed his true identity as the living avatar of the super computer FATE.

14 years ago, Miguel and Wazuki carried Serge, who was attacked by a panther demon. The poison was so deadly that it was beyond the healing abilities of the doctors from Termina and Guldove, and so they made their way to Marbule to see the Sage. Along the way, the storm got very strong and washed them ashore the island of Chronopolis, where they decided to seek shelter. Due to the storm, the defense mechanism of the facility went off-line for a few minutes, and by the time it had powered back up, the Flame had already found Serge, healing his body and declaring him the new Arbiter in the process. This triggered a hidden circuit in FATE, that was revealed to have been installed secretly inside the super computer by a scientist named Lucca Ashtear, which caused a malfunction. Lynx ordered the super computer to terminate the bugging circuit, Prometheus, who asked Serge to end the fight between FATE and the dragons to save their future in its dying breath.

Lynx then evolved into a cybernetic form, and finally clashed with Serge and the others. the heroes were able to overcome the overlord super-computer, and destroy it for good. The six dragons from both worlds then sensed FATE's defeat, realizing that the time has come to make their next move. A new structure then rose from the bottom of the ocean, spreading its wings to reveal the new Terra Tower.

Kid then revealed that in 2400 A.D, the Flame went out of control and ripped apart the dimensions, which resulted in Chronopolis being sent back 10,000 years in the past, possibly because Lavos was calling the Flame to itself, Lavos might have predicted its defeat, and created this as back up plan. At that same time, another city from a different dimension was also brought back in time, Dinopolis, which might have been called back by the planet itself. Either way, it wasn't the dragons that sealed the Frozen Flame, but FATE used the Flame to divide and seal the dragons in slumber. Now that FATE is no more, the dragons will exact their revenge against humanity on the planet's behalf. The party realized that they've been used this whole time, and now, they will think of a way to reach the new tower.
