Chrono Trigger (SNES) - Part 08: The Guru on Mt. Woe
Head back to Enhasa and interact with the closed books in the following order E - Wind, NW - Water, S - Fire.
The bookcase will reveal a Nu, and you'll have to deal with 6 of them.
Magic is your best bet, and hope that they consecutively go for the attack which leaves you with 1HP rather than the one which does 1HP of damage.
You get a Magic and Speed Tab for the win.
Head back to near Fajar and enter the Cave, follow the path to Zeal Palace and enter. Speak to some of the NPCs and learn how to scratch a Nu from the Nu in there. Then head back to Kajar and scratch the Nu in the N library section for a Magic Tab. Head back to Zeal Palace and head NE and E to see Janus and Schala.
Leave and head for the central N area and see Schala open up a door similar to one you've seen with her pendant. It's similar to ours, but ours won't open the door. Head into the NW and charge the Pendant at Mamon, and you can now open that door and meet with Schala.
You'll be taken prisoner and have to fight Golem. You CAN win, but don't need to. Alternate Magic types to buy yourself more time and you have a better chance of winning.
Schala and Janus free us after and ask us to help the Gurus by finding Melchior. We're asked by the Prophet here to show us how we got here, so we oblige and Schala is forced to cast some kind of seal.
We're shown one of those sealed doors in 2,300AD and are back in Ayla's time.
Head back to the End of Time via the Mystic Mountains after telling Kino that you're ok. Head into the teleporter to 2,300AD and head back to Arris Dome via Lab 32. In the back you'll be able to open a sealed door for four chests and a Power Tab.
Make your way back through Lab 16 to Bangor Dome for another sealed door to open. There's 3 more chests in here, and then make your way S to Trann Dome. Heal up inside and head through this Sealed Door. There's 2 more chests and a Magic Tab here.
Head back through Lab 16 and make your way to Sewer Access and head through to the Keeper's Dome. This has the Sealed Door we saw before arriving in Ayla's time.
Interact with the shiny objects to hear from Belthazar about Lavos and Belthazar's invention, the "Wings of Time".
The Nu that was asleep has Belthazar's memories implanted into it, and he gives you instructions on how to use the machine which is called the Epoch.
With this we can travel through time practically at will, so head back to the Dark Ages using it.
Head W of your location to Terra Cave and upgrade any gear you can afford (try grinding some more than me if you want - you'll want to grind a bit soon anyway).
Head all the way to the bottom and head to the next area to find a Power Tab in the SE corner. Make your way N and after a couple of fights you'll encounter the Red & Blue Beast and Mud Imp. It's better to focus on one beast first. Red Beast is weak to Ice and Blue weak to Fire. You can get a multi hit in now and then, but be prepared to heal straight after because of the counters. The Mud Imp will take a lot more damage with the Beasts felled. I head back and heal up and save for the next part
