Of course, Magus and our party are still enemies so the conversation heats up and Magus challenges us to a fight. If you have Frog in your party, you even have the option of fighting him one on one as Frog, but you don't have to fight him at all. In fact, it's better not to because if you try to leave, he'll join your party, whereas if you fight and defeat him, all you get is the Amulet accessory he is wearing. We board Epoch and stand in awe as the Ocean Palace rises from the bottom of the sea and becomes the Black Omen. We return to the End of Time and talk to the old man who really is Gaspar, the Guru of Time. He gives us the Chrono Trigger (so that's where this name got its name from... how lame) which may or may not help us bring Crono back from the dead. We also need a clone of Crono which can be won from a game at the Millennial Fair so we go to 1000 A.D.

Note: The Black Omen is a new dungeon which exists in nearly all time periods (all but 65.000.000 BC and 1999 A.D.). It seems to be a shrine for Lavos or so and it can be tackled from different time periods. You can enter it in 12.000 B.C., 600 A.D. or 1000 A.D. (not in 2300 A.D. because that world has no energy left that Lavos could absorb, which is the use of the Black Omen). In fact, you could play it through until a certain point and pick up all the items and then leave to go through it in another time to pick up the items again (first 1000AD then 600AD then 12000BC). It's a very long and hard dungeon but I will play it through once I've done everything else that I plan to do.
