The Original Game Boy is one of the biggest 'game changers' in the history of video games, and essentially ushered in the popularity of handheld games. There are many games that will be classic forever. There are, however, a much, much higher number of simply awful, forgettable, or downright weird games. CiB Game Boy Theater shows you some of the games you might not (and shouldn't be...) familiar with.

First up, Frank Thomas' Big Hurt Baseball. At first, all of us are thinking 'a baseball game. NEXT!' but there is a bit more to this one. For one, the graphics and movements of the players is pretty darn good for Game Boy - same can be said for the amount of stuff you can do in-game --- warming up pitchers, switching line-ups, mound visits - this stuff sounds very standard, but was not seen in a lot of baseball games at the time.

But, in the end, at least nowadays, it is very, very boring. I'm sure it was enthralling back then, but no background music, a long time between pitches - I can't imagine finishing a 9 inning game, let alone a season. NEXT!

Snoopy's Magic Show - that's French for 'Generic puzzle game'. Thousands of characters and brands have been put into games for no particular reason, but this one is especially interesting. Besides the fact that you play as Snoopy, and you pick up Woodstock(s), what about this is Peanuts/Snoopy at all? Not a thing. You could switch Snoopy out for a generic star or square, and the game would be 100% the same. That being said, it's not a terrible puzzle game, and I could see having some fun on this one on car rides - very bare bones, however.
