CiB Game Boy Theater - In Your Face and Skate or Die: Bad 'N Rad (Episode 31)
The Original Game Boy is one of the biggest 'game changers' in the history of video games, and essentially ushered in the popularity of handheld games. There are many games that will be classic forever. There are, however, a much, much higher number of simply awful, forgettable, or downright weird games. CiB Game Boy Theater shows you some of the games you might not (and shouldn't be...) familiar with.
I want to hate on In Your Face, but I can't. It is very limited (only 2 teams, and only 1 on 1 or 2 on 2 play modes), but you can tell this was a pretty ambitious game for the time of release (1990). I'm not having any fun at all, but it's just one of those games I can tell I would have had a moderately good time with back then. Props for those special dunk animations. Next? Next.
You would expect Skate or Die: Bad 'N Rad to be a, well, bad game. The two for the NES certainly are, and how often are Game Boy versions better than the NES version?
Well, this Game Boy version -is- better. It's not a port - they made a completely new unique game. It's still not good or fun, but you can tell they tried. Instead of just 4 'competitions' in the NES version, this plays like an actual video game. Who would have thought?? So yeah, not good, but is it the worst we've experienced on Game Boy Theater? Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.... yeah... no. Thanks for watching!
