CiB Game Boy Theater - Qix and Nobunaga's Ambition (Episode 74)
The Original Game Boy is one of the biggest 'game changers' in the history of video games, and essentially ushered in the popularity of handheld games. There are many games that will be classic forever. There are, however, a much, much higher number of simply awful, forgettable, or downright weird games. CiB Game Boy Theater shows you some of the games you might not (and shouldn't be...) familiar with.
'Hey Google, how do I play Qix?' is about all you need to know for this one. It's a simple, older arcade game with some pretty cool graphics (that floating object is at the very least, kinda neat). After we figured out how to play it, I can definitely see how it can get tough quickly. Qix gets a pass because of how old the original game was, even during Game Boy times.
'Let's see... Marry. Yes, I'll do that. -you don't have enough gold- Ain't that the truth...' Strategy games are simply lost on me. This could be the best, or worst, version of Nobunaga's Ambition ever released and I would have no idea. For fans of the series, I apologize if I looked like a fool - because I definitely am for games like that. I have no idea what I'm doing, what I should do, or how to do battles. At least my incompetence with games like this makes for a good laugh. Thanks for watching!
