CiB Game Boy Theater - WWF Raw and Go! Go! Tank (Episode 72)
The Original Game Boy is one of the biggest 'game changers' in the history of video games, and essentially ushered in the popularity of handheld games. There are many games that will be classic forever. There are, however, a much, much higher number of simply awful, forgettable, or downright weird games. CiB Game Boy Theater shows you some of the games you might not (and shouldn't be...) familiar with.
Ahhh, another classic WWF game made by LJN. You know know this is going to be quality. Lets start with the positives - there are 8 playable characters, and, in general, their sprites look like their real-life counterparts. That's it for the positives. Otherwise, this is another truly awful, boring, button-mashing wrestling game, especially by 2020 standards. As Trev said, WHY were there SO MANY bad wrestling games?
I must admit, I am kind of shocked that Go! Go! Tank is so bad. It looked cute, fun, and silly, and instead, it's just frustrating. It's not that everything Taito ever made was amazing, but when I picked the two games for this episode, I thought we'd have the classic one-bad-game (WWF Raw)-and-one-OK-to-good-game (Go! Go! Tank), and boy, was I wrote. We're 72 episodes in, and this may be one of the worst episodes in terms of quality of games. I'm sure it'll only go up from here... right?!
