Bio F.R.E.A.K.S. was released on May 19, 1998 for the PS1. It was developed by Midway Studios San Diego (later to become THQ San Diego --- they developed Mortal Kombat 3 for PS1, Doom/Final Doom for PS1, NBA Hangtime for PS1/N64, and Mortal Kombat Trilogy for PS1), and published by Midway games.

What is the deal with late 90s/early 2000s stuff and having to make titles in acronyms?

Now that I know how relatively solid Midway Studios San Diego was, WHY is this game so AWFUL?

Seriously, NBA Hangtime is an amazing game. The Mortal Kombat games they worked on were solid. They worked on PS1 ports of NFL Blitz games. And the worst part is that the game has the shell of a good game, but it just plays like trash.

How many 3D fighting games must we suffer through on the PS1? For what it's worth, the N64 version was reviewed slightly better than the PS1 version, so maybe we'll play that someday. Thanks for watching!
