Street Sk8er was released on February 26, 1999 for the PS1. It was developed by Atelier Double (Winter Games, Fantasy Zone II --- it seems they mostly developed Japanese games), and published by the accursed Electronic Arts themselves.

We've been wrong on skateboarding games before (Thrasher for PS1), but I'm just not sure this game knew what it wanted to be. So it's clearly an arcade-style game, based on the fact that you get a 'Game Over' after failing. It is kind of like an arcade style Tony Hawk, where you are very limited in the tricks you can do. Seriously, it's a broken record comparing every skateboarding game to THPS, but only being able to perform one move in the air, and making grinding kind of complicated is just rough.

In GOOD news, Atelier Double also developed Street Sk8er 2 - so, there's that. Thanks for watching!
