Running Wild was released on October 7, 1998 for the PS1 - it was developed by Blue Shift (which is now Take Two Vancouver - Blitz the League II, Darksiders II, NBA 2K21), and published by 989 Studios (which was a part of Sony - a few JetMoto, Twisted Metal, and CoolBoarders games).

For those curious, this game came out after Crash Bandicoot 1 and 2, and right before Crash 3: Warped (October 31, 1998). Crash Team Racing released on October 19, 1999, a full year after Running Wild, so I was somehow right - this is, kind of, maybe, in a weird way a pre-cursor to CTR.

The game itself - a racing game where you run instead of drive - is honestly pretty okay. Racing games are just one of those genres that do not age well (I personally don't even like Mario Kart 64 in present day - boooooo, I know), but you can definitely tell this game was solid at release. There doesn't seem to be a whole ton of extras available, but we've definitely been wrong before.

Long story short, if you want a racing game made by the creators of Crash Bandicoot, but you don't want CTR, this game definitely exists. Thanks for watching!
