CiB Let's Try - Fighter Maker 2 (PS2)
Fighter Maker 2 was released as a PS2 exclusive on November 19, 2002. It was developed by Enterbrain (who also developed Galerians: Ash... and nothing else I recognize) and published by the absolute GIGACHADS at AgeTec.
This game is -so- frustrating. In some ways, it is extremely robust and fulfilling: the fighting mechanics are so deep that I can't even begin to recognize them. I mean, frame data? Custom moves? Custom animations? The amount you can customize for the actual fighting is intense.
That being said, why take ---all that time--- to customize a character in a 2 button fighter (3 button if you could guard as a 'button')? I really appreciate what they tried to do with the game, but if the base game is absolutely vanilla and boring, why bother having such robust customization with the fighting?
I also appreciate what they were trying to go for with the physical fighter creator, but the fact that you can't change height, weight, and other major things like that is just kind of lame. I'm sure there are more robust and easy-to-understand fighting creator applications nowadays, but I really am unsure -who- exactly this game was made for back in 2002. Regardless, thank you for watching!
