CiB Let's Try - Death By Degrees (PS2)
Death by Degrees (starring Tekken's Nina Williams!) was released on February 8, 2005 as a Playstation 2 exclusive. It was developed and published by Namco. Oddly, Tekken 5 was released for the PS2 on February 24, 2005, only a few weeks after Death By Degrees.
As mentioned above, I find the release schedule for this game to be a bit odd --- if people were THAT excited for Tekken 5, you think they just would've waited the couple extra weeks. It would have made a lot more sense to me for Death by Degrees to be released 6-9 months before Tekken 5. That would've potentially grown more interest in Tekken 5, albeit most likely only by the hardcore fans.
I expected a 3D brawler, almost like a 3D Streets of Rage game, but instead we got a mixture of the story for Resident Evil Code Veronica, the strangeness of Charlie's Angels or VIP Starring Pamela Anderson, and a fighting style that I do not believe we've seen before - imagine a brawler that uses the analog sticks as directional attacks (???)
All things considered, Namco put a lot more effort than I expected them to into Death By Degrees --- I'm sure it's a solid playthrough, though I am not a Tekken fan, so the characters mean very little to me - definitely suggest giving a playthrough for a Tekken fan though - thanks for watching!
