Giga Wing 2 was released on May 16, 2001 as a Dreamcast exclusive. It was developed by Takumi, who is well-known for their arcade style shoot 'em ups, and published by Capcom.

Yep, within one second of playing, it's pretty clear why this is one of, if not the most expensive standard Dreamcast releases. Late release title? Check. Very Japanese? Yep. Awful cover art that doesn't show what the game actually is? Yeaaaah. Very niche genre that even I can't get interested in? You betcha.

So yeah, it was the perfect storm of something that would eventually be super expensive. I'm sure Giga Wing 2 sold pretty poorly in comparison to many other Dreamcast games.

How's the gameplay? It's a Bullet Hell game, and your experience will widely differ if you are a Bullet Hell fan, or if you like your games to be fun. In all seriousness, I do not know how to compare Giga Wing 2 to other Bullet Hell games. It could be the absolute GOAT, it could be the absolute worst. What I played I did enjoy in general -- on a lower difficulty with max lives and max bombs.

Giga Wing 2 is definitely a cool piece for a collection, but is the price of admission worth the gameplay? In one non-Bullet Hell fan's opinion - no lol. Thanks for watching!
